ABOUT OUR PASTOR
Pastor John Onoriode Okperuvwe serves as the Lead Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Rhema International Assembly in Huntsville, Texas, USA. Called by the grace of God, he is a devoted spiritual leader with a heart for sharing the word of God with people worldwide, particularly the African community in Huntsville. His ministry provides guidance and support to those who come to the city for work, employment, or academic pursuits.
Pastor John is a highly educated individual, holding multiple degrees that reflect his commitment to both intellectual and spiritual growth:
- Bachelor of Science in Microbiology: Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State, Nigeria
- Masters in Pastoral Counselling (Family and Marriage): Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia, USA
- Masters in Public Health (Global Health): Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia, USA
Guided by his belief that “Service to Humanity” is the true measure of life, Pastor John has made significant contributions to his community, particularly among African immigrants in Huntsville. His impactful humanitarian efforts have drawn attention from prominent media outlets, including the Houston Chronicle, Voice of America, and The Marshall Project. These organizations have visited RCCG Rhema International Assembly to worship and conduct personal interviews with Pastor John, highlighting his influence and dedication.
Pastor John is happily married to Pastor Mrs. Ufuoma Okperuvwe, who serves alongside him as a co-pastor at RCCG Rhema International Assembly. Together, they are blessed with four children: John Okperuvwe Jr., Favour Okperuvwe, Oghenetega Okperuvwe, and Oghenetanure Okperuvwe. Their family exemplifies a shared commitment to faith, ministry, and community service.
